So this is one of the hardest reviews I have written for a very long time. Not because of anything being wrong, very much the opposite. Sarah & Brendan have a beautiful little family and it echoes throughout both the site and my experience. It's been a very long time for me to have been able to say that I actually had some time to relax. This is mainly due to the challenges of a chronic illness. But here on what isn't just a campsite, a working farm but also a family home, I was greated with everything both body & mind could need. The facilities are exceptionally well presented & maintained by an incredibly friendly team. The campsite has wide open space so no one feels crampt in. The Hartland Quay hotel is a short walk, serving lovely food. The campsite is also situated with a dark sky area for those intrested in seeing the milkyway. Sarah has a little shop on site, so make special pop in & try the delicious ice cream. While on our way down we broke a wheel stud & a brake caliper carrier bolts. I rang around a dozen garages, all fully booked. Sarah accommodated us to stay a little longer than planned, while Brendon rang around to lots of locals until he found a nice young chap who helped get us back on the road. Nothing was to much trouble, they take everything in their stride. So the reason this review is difficult is because this place, the family are incredibly rare, a diamond in the ruff as they say. So yes I want to tell everyone how wonderful, how amazing it is but I don't want to see everyone there 😆.
